Local Tech Entreprenuer, Liam O'Duibhir, to Facilitate This Year's Start Up Camp Canberra

I am pleased to annouce that Liam O'Duibhir will be my co-captain for this year's event.  Liam participated in the event last year and is a tech entreprenuer in his own right.  Liam's boundless energy, enthusiam and way-cool sunglasses were a real highlight for me last year. I'm very excited to have him back as a facilitator.

We did try to get Bart Jellema again from Start Up Australia, but he is flat chat with the recent sale of his start up, TJOOS.  We have Bart's well wishes and hope he will be involved in Start Up Camp Canberra events in the furture.

Here is a bit more about Liam:

Liam O'Duibhir is an IT professional and entrepreneur. In 2006 he founded SoccerFit (www.soccerfit.com.au) which is a business that combines the benefits of social fun fitness with the world's most popular sport!

SoccerFit was inspired by StartupCamp Australia 2009 to develop a software platform to power the business venture across Australia. Liam has since received grant assistance from the ACT government and secured significant 'venture IT' investment from a leading Canberran software team to pursue development.

The SoccerFit Community Network has a planned launch date of September 2010.  Previously Liam was the Open Source Programme Manager at Fujitsu Australia Software Technology (FAST). He has over 20 years experience in the IT industry spanning roles in senior technical, sales and managerial capacities with leading companies throughout Europe and Australia (including Fujitsu, Motorola, NEC and Schlumberger).  An  involvement with two failed DotCom organisations hasn't dimmed Liam's  passion for innovative technology and he loves the energy of events such as StartupCamp.
